Letter from the President
Adventure Continues to
Win Support from
Governmental Agencies

Thanks to the efforts of State Senator Senator Bruce Tarr and Representative Tony Verga, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts granted $250,000 in its FY2006 budget for the restoration of the Schooner Adventure! These new funds will help complete the restoration of the stern and the quarterdeck of the National Historic Landmark dory-fishing schooner. Read more

THE DUSKY FOUNDATION Challenge Grant
The Dusky Foundation, announced on November 5th that they have awarded a $50,000 1:1 Challenge Matching Grant to The Gloucester Adventure to support the organization’s ongoing campaign to save the National Historic Landmark fishing schooner Adventure.

Danny Spooner Benefit Concert: A Magical Event
"What a gem," "He gave me chills", "An overwhelming success!" — These were some of the comments heard at the finale of the extraordinary performance given by Danny Spooner as a benefit for the Schooner Adventure at the Gloucester Legion Hall on July 15th.

Adventure Annual
Meeting Report
Adventure held its 2005 Annual Meeting on May 20th at the Amaral-Bailey American Legion Post in Manchester-by-the Sea. The meeting was a highly motivating experience that reflected the enthusiasm of the generous and hardworking supporters of the Gloucester Adventure organization.

Mayor John Bell was very pleased to accept Adventure's Partnership Award on behalf of the City of Gloucester.
